The River Isle is a small but beautiful confluence that is nowhere near as famous or as celebrated as the Dordogne that flows nearby. However, it still has many charming features that have made it a great place to go for a walk on a summers’ day, taking in the interesting mixture of natural beauty and man made sites that you pass. The river attracts a good deal of wildlife, especially water birds and therefore the area is popular with ornithologists.
