Since 1974 the local archaeological society has been excavating this area in the northern suburbs of the old Roman city of Narbonne. What they have discovered has amazed many local experts in a well preserved section of Roman life. Beneath the soil are foundations of houses and places of business that still have many of the original features intact, including a series of exceptional frescoes. Visitors are invited to browse this fine discovery and marvel at a world that had long been forgotten.
