Housed in the beautiful 13th Century Hotel du Monnaie in the heart of the city, this museum tells the story of the French currency. Since the days of bartering, there has been a need for a currency in France. As the economy of the nation and her trading partners around the world have developed, so too has the monetary system. This interesting museum, through an extensive collection of examples and artefacts shows a pictorial history of the French Franc, finally becoming the Euro.
