The municipal archives are housed in a good looking old building in the middle of the town, close to the canal. The building is open to the public throughout the week and holds a vast collection of interesting and ancient documents which relate to the history of the town and the surrounding regions. It is well worth a look at the archives which are jealously guarded by the local authority because of many of the documents age and values.
