This ancient bridge was one of the most important access points to the ancient Roman city several thousand years ago. The structure would have consisted of seven exceptionally crafted stone arches which spanned the River Aude. Today only one of these arches still remains, but visitors can imagine the way in which it majestically swept across the river and linked the central areas of the town with the lesser important residential areas to the south. It is one of the many pieces of Roman architecture that make up the fascinating nature of Narbonne.
