The reason that Noyers has been settled in the position that it has is because of the position of the Sereine River which loops almost all the way around the town, forming a natural defence against attack, before the people of the community had to even start building defences. Some of the best views of the town and the local countryside come from walking along the river, surrounded by the pastoral beauty of the local wildlife and trees, you can lose yourself n a quite different part of France.
