Saint Jean Baptistery is one of the oldest Christian monuments in Europe and has a history that dates back almost as long as that of the settlement in Poitiers itself. The fine looking little building is a good looking example of ancient ecclesiastical architecture, and makes the nearby cathedral of the same name look positively modern. Inside you will discover the treasures of the past in the dimly lit atrium of the church.
