St. Ėtienne Cathedral is one of the crowning architectural glories of the town of Metz. A wonderful Gothic piece of ecclesiastical architecture, the building was constructed over several centuries, between 1220 and 1522, therefore has a mixture of various techniques and styles fused together, making it a much loved sight. It is famed for the enormous stained glass panels which were started in the 13th Century and have been developed right through to present day.
