Barrilett Descamps was the designer of this park in the late 19th Century, inspired by the great waterways that were being planned to service the industries of the day. He wanted to make a park that was filled with beautiful plants, trees and flowers, but also add the extra element of waterways, waterfalls and ponds. The result is what many in the architectural and design world consider to be one of the finest urban parks in the whole of France.
