Louis Bott Mosult was the architect commissioned to create a huge industrial factory in the mid 19th Century to help expand the budding textiles industry in the area. The result is what is recognised by many as to be one of the finest pieces of industrial architecture in France. The enormous building shows a great mixture of regional architectural styles, but also shows signs of an influence from Victorian English industrialism, a true triumph of its time.
