This is without a doubt one of the most recognised parts of the Toulouse skyline. The great hospital with the unique copper dome on the roof was established to cope with the effects of the great plague of the 15th Century in France. Essentially it became a massive morgue, but in later centuries, a very functional hospital. The amazing piece of architecture is open to the public to be viewed and is well worth a closer look, because of the fascinating detail.
