Draper’s Row was constructed in the early 1880’s and refers to a series of about eighteen buildings that were built along the site of the old canal. The canal used to connect the city with Belgium, but after it was filled in, what is now known as Avenue du General de Gaulle was constructed, and these draper’s houses were made. Examples of architecture can be seen on this row from such great architects as Rozan and Deshamps.
