Fort de la Cité

This beautiful old fort is located to the south of the main area of Saint Malo in the district which is known as St. Servant. The construction is one of the finer examples of a military fort still standing in this area of France. It was built in the 18th Century and has had many uses in the lifetime of the building including as a German military base for several years during the Second World War. Many parts of the building still show the scars of the D-Day landings of 1944.
