Rue Generale de Gaulle is the main thoroughfare through the centre of the city and is primarily a modern street that has been put in place to allow fast access through the smaller streets that come off of this road in the heart of the city are some of the oldest in the area. They are worth a good look around as they are home to some of the most exquisite examples of 16th Century half timbered houses that you will find anywhere in France.
