A great deal of this street was demolished in the early 20th Century, much to the dismay of local people who recognised the importance of these ancient buildings. Several structures from the 16th Century to the 19th Century were lost, and several others have been converted into shops and banks. This beautiful building is one of the few structures in the area that is well preserved and gives a fairly clear picture of how people built town houses many hundreds of years ago in Toulouse.
