Situated in the courtyard to the Palace of Justice in the heart of Rouen old town, this monument is far more than simply a commemorative piece. Until the 12th Century it was actually used as a working synagogue, showing how important Jewish culture has always been on this area of France. The interesting and beautiful building is covered in gargoyles and carvings, making it one of the most impressive pieces of architecture in the city.
