Toulouse was one of the hotbeds of resistance and dissent against the Nazi occupying force, during the Second World War. A great many brave men and women worked at the risk of their own lives, to undermine the authority of the Germans, and help the Allied forces in their plans to liberate Europe. This magnificent monument was erected in memory of this brave resistance. Hidden underground, beneath the monument is a small interactive exhibition which tells the story of the movement.
