Notre Dame Cathedral is a world famous piece of architecture, almost as notable as its namesake in the capital. This wonderful Gothic building was begun in 1211 and took about a hundred years to complete. Of the many features worth noting in the cathedral, one must not miss the great rose window or the astronomical clock. If you are feeling brave it is possible to climb onto the roof of the church where you will be rewarded with some spectacular views of the Champagne region.
