Built between 1201 and the early 16th Century, this cathedral is considered to be one of the masterpieces of the French Gothic architectural movement. So well loved is the building, that it was the subject of a series of paintings by the world famous artists Claude Monet. The vast structure is open to the public and contains a variety of interesting and fascinating areas, including a wonderful crypt, a series of chapels and some of the most opulent internal fittings in the country.
