Notre Dame of the Bridge Abbey was built in 1451 and is named so because it was always seen as the last post in the town, on the bridge, a symbol of the town and a guarding post. There is thought to have been a religious building on this site since the 12th Century, but the later church is still regarded as one of the most impressive pieces of religious architecture in the area and shows all of the hallmarks of the local building techniques.
