The main parish church is to be found on a small island between streams in the town, and is one of the more impressive examples of local architecture in the immediate region. Carved almost entirely from local stone and internally decorated to a beautiful finish, the ornate church is certainly worthy of its title as parish church, as it has served the people of the area for a significant amount of centuries, and has changed little in that time.
