The Place de la République is one of the larges squares in Strasbourg. Situated at the centre of a major road intersection the great square is one of the most recognized areas of the city. Built as a celebration of the formation of the French Republic and as a long lasting monument to peace after the bloody French Revolution the square is as symbolic as it is attractive. The area attracts many tourists and locals to sit back, relax and watch the world go by.
