This square is one of the masterpieces created by Jean-Pascal Virebent, the city architect of Toulouse in the 18th Century who oversaw a great deal of the expansion of the city. His work can be seen across Toulouse, but this square remains one of his finest. The area is a popular with both local people and visitors. Flanked by beautiful and historic buildings, the large square has a fountain and a series of statues at the centre.
