This street is not only one of the oldest and best preserved in the city of Rouen, but historically one of the most important. It leads from the main cathedral to the place where Joan of Arc was executed. Legend has it that she was led down this street to her death after being convicted of heresy in 1431. Today, the street is home to some of the most interesting architectural structures left in the city. Sadly much of the area was decimated by the Nazi’s during the war, but care has been taken to restore the streets.
