The original structure of the parish church of Saint Martin remains, but it is thought that the original church was constructed in the 9th Century. What visitors see today is the amazing reconstruction job that architect Charles Leroy undertook in 1848. The architect managed to work around some of the older features that remained and blended the 19th Century structure with them to create a fantastic church at the heart of the community.
