Probably the best known historical building in the town, this fine church is one of the dominant features of the skyline. The church is built in the Gothic-Romanesque architectural tradition and therefore appears far grander than the immediate surroundings of the building would suggest. The building has a large looming four storey belfry and is well known for containing the tomb of the judge who sentenced and convicted the well known pirate Bluebeard.
