Saran Lake is situated just to the south of the town centre and is a popular venue for people to head for if they want some pastoral relaxation time. The lake is not massive, but large enough to attract a good collection of birds and wildlife, who thrive on the beautiful trees and flowers that surround it. Many choose to simply sit by the lake and relax, whereas others indulge in more thrill seeking activities like water skiing.
