This beautiful church looms large at the heart of the old town area of Troyes. It was begun in the 13th Century by the then Pope Urban IV, who named the project after himself. He was from the city, and his father’s shoemaking shop was found on the site of the current building. It is a marvellous piece of local design, reflecting the Champagne regional style. It is well known for having some tremendous 13th Century stained glass windows.
