Jacques Greber was a well know architect in the early 20th Century and was responsible for a good deal of structures that were built in northern France. One of his crowning glories in this town was the magnificent velodrome. It was decided in the early 1920’s that a sports centre should be built and in 1934 the velodrome became the iconic symbol of that centre, a masterpiece of engineering that still stands today.
