The Baise River flows around this ancient community and would originally have acted as a source of life for the people, and then later been used as a natural defence against aggressive armies trying to penetrate the fortifications. Today the river is a place that people go to get away from the hustle and bustle of town life and to enjoy the best of French pastoral beauty. A lovely afternoon stroll can be taken along the banks of this river.
