If you proceed to the eastern end of the Grand Canal in the gardens of the palace, you will come across a small boat hire centre. From here it is possible, throughout the summer months, to hire a rowing boat and go out for a trip along the two canals of the gardens. You can imagine that you are Louis XIV and you are hosting your very own water party. There are few more relaxing ways to enjoy some time in the grounds of the palace than messing about in boats.
