The Bois du Lavoir expands for some distance to the east of the town centre and is a large green area that has been set aside by the regional authority. A great deal of the land has been left relatively wild, the purpose being to attract a good selection of local and more exotic wild plants and animals to the region. This is a wonderful place to go for a walk in the summertime as it is simply alive with the sights, sounds and smells of nature.
