Auguste Escoffier was from this town, and is a celebrated figure across France. Known as ‘the chef of kings and the king of chefs’, Escoffier is celebrated in this museum. There are a great many artefacts that related to the kitchen and the food making process. There are many old pieces that the great chef himself used to use as well as being mock up and reconstructions of kitchens that would have been used in days gone by.
