Situated to the eastern side of Avenue Général de Gaulle is the second, and less impressive, of the two major Roman excavations sites in the town. Built on top of an ancient town, only in recent years has the full extent of the treasures that lie beneath started to become apparent. The site is open to visitors and has on display some Roman housing and some of the original artefacts that have been uncovered during the dig.
