The Palace of Versailles casts a shadow over the entire town of Versailles and is without a doubt one of the most amazing pieces of architecture in western Europe. The project was undertaken at the will of Louis XIV of France, often known as the ‘sun king’. He is immortalised here in this statue outside the palace, a reminder of the man whose vision made this happen, and a celebration of he man who really loved the town of Versailles.
