One of the two smaller palaces that were built in the grounds of the spectacular Palace of Versailles, this building is a great looking place to visit when you are in the gardens. It was constructed in the 1760s and in 1867 was completely overhauled by the then consort of Emperor Napoleon III. It was she who added the range of Louis XVI style furniture in to the building and added her own mark in several places throughout the palace.
