Place Godeau was once the site of the old Roman cemetery in the community, but that was removed in 1780, and replaced with an interesting square that is surrounded by fine houses. The point of interest in the main in this square is the large grey obelisk that stands at the centre. It is in fact a monument that was presented to the village by the city of Marseille in 230AD to show gratitude for their help in several military efforts. It remains one of the oldest monuments in the area.
