The Promenade des Mariniers is a long walkway that stretches along the front of the port in the town and is a popular place for local people and visitors to go walking. Until 1967, this area was the permanent home to a large fleet of American warships, and although now not a main base, is still occasionally used for docking military vessels. You can see some nice sights of the sea, the docks and the towns from this good looking walkway.
