Saint Peter’s Chapel was built in the 14th Century, around the same time as the original Saint Michael’s Church. Well used for any years, the fine little building fell into a state of disrepair by the beginning of the 19th Century and was actually being used as a fisherman’s storeroom. However in 1957, John Cocteau took over the premises and restored the church, adding the now famous murals to the interior walls.
