La Canebiere is one of the oldest and most historic streets in the whole of the vast city of Marseille. It is an area that has for generations attracted some of the most interesting characters from around the city, to entertain, and attempt to sell their goods. The street is popular with tourists who want to get a feel for the city, experience some of its quirks, and sample some of the great cafes and restaurants that are all over the area.
