The city of Reims was founded on top of a Roman settlement, therefore across the community there are hints of Roman buildings and artefacts on display. This crypt is found under the beautiful Place de Forum, close to the heart of the city. The crypt is though to date from the 3rd Century, and would have been used as a grain storage centre in the heart of the community. Today there is a small gallery within that explains a little more about the Roman presence in Reims.
