The ramparts run around the edge of the old village and were put in place around the 13th Century. At this time there was a great deal of turbulence in the politics of France and there was a need for hefty defences, even for such a small community as this. A great deal of these fine looking walls are still in place and are a good place to get an overall look of the community from, an historic monument that hasn’t changed for hundreds of years.
