The Cathedral de le Major is one of the largest churches in the area, and is set at the centre of the impressive Place de le Major, in the heart of the old part of the city. The cathedral exhibits some of the finest architecture in the city, and was built over a long period of time in the middle ages, and added to as local merchants and Rome donated towards the project. A functional Roman Catholic Church the facility is open to the public throughout the day.
