The Holocaust Museum and Memorial in Marseille is one of the most shocking and moving places that you can visit whilst you are in the city. Like so many of the cities and towns of Europe, Marseille was heavily affected by the fighting of the Second World War, but like so many the majority of the population were lucky compared to the persecution that the Jewish citizens faced during this time. The museum brings to life this tragic carnage which changed the world forever and must never be allowed to happen again.
