This large forest has a very German sounding name and is on the edge of Strasbourg, close to the river that divides the French and German nations. So often the site of border disputes in the past, this city is a true melting pot of German and French culture. This forest is typical of the many forests that are found on the other side of the border in Germany, green and lush, beautiful and clean. It is a popular place for many locals and visitors to take walks in the summer months.
