The Alsace region is quite unique in French society, quite unlike any of the other regions of the country. Tucked away on the north-eastern borders with Germany in the cold reaches of the country, the area has a long and interesting history associated with Germany and the transfer of power between French and German power. This museum contains a great deal of artwork, artefacts and documents relating to the transitions in Strasbourg’s history between the 11th and 17th centuries.
